The transportation adviser Augustin Hagiu declared that a single transportation company can lose each month thousands of euros because of Romania’s delayed entrance to the Schengen space. “The losses cannot be fully understood, but a single company can lose monthly many thousands of euros. Just think about the time that is lost at the customs. Entering the Schengen space allows transiting countries without being stopped and without any delay. A longer period of waiting may lead to expiring vignettes. If we’re talking about a passenger transport, the waiting times are even bigger, because every man is checked and sometimes every luggage is checked as well. All of these plus the discomfort created for the transporter, lead to huge losses”, says Hagiu.
