At european level there is a positive development, major European countries recorded growth which reinforces a growing trend for 2014 (data after seven months are: + 1.9% France, Germany + 3%,  Italy +3.6%, Spain + 16.6%, UK + 10.1%).

According to experts of Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA), further market sales in Romania are supported by businesses purchases (71% of the total number recorded in the first seven months of 2014). Noteworthy is that the July report individual / legal person is more balanced (36% versus 64%, similar to last month).

Another aspect that is worth mentioning is that between January to July 2014, used car registrations fell by about 7% (9,300 units) compared to the same period in 2013, however, this volume (119,200 units in 2014) remained high compared with the one of new cars (about 3 times higher), although down from 2013 (when the ratio used/new car was 4.3).

After seven months, production decreased by 8% to 246,227 vehicles. Of these, 209,701 units (85%) were produced by Dacia, 36,521 (14.8%) by Ford and 5 units by Roman Brasov.

Most models produced were Dacia Duster, Dacia Logan, Ford B-MAX, Dacia Sandero and Logan MCV.

The most exported model in July was Dacia Duster, followed by the Ford B-MAX and Dacia Logan. Regarding the first seven months, the top is driven by Dacia Duster, followed by Logan and Ford B-MAX.

At passenger cars, after seven months, the brands top is led by Dacia, followed by Volkswagen, Skoda, Ford, Renault and Opel.
