In theory, the new regulations are aimed to leave out any potential trick from those hauliers who unlawfully compete on the market. In practice, though, many of these new regulations fail when it comes to real effects. We are dealing with a vicious circle, a foul play that both transporters and lawmakers are compelled to respect. Laws come and go, they are conceived so that they could respond appropriately to everybody’s needs and when those needs are overcome, laws are due to change. And so goes the schema: law, trick to elude law, adapted law, trick to elude adapted law, readapted law….

Who has to suffer the consequences? Well, those who choose to be law-abiding. But as the European rules are also unmistakably due to be applied in Romania, will everybody jump at any opportunity to escape those? On the other hand, it is also true that in a continuous economic regress, the one who might take fairplay as a rule will be the loser. This no-way-out situation might be avoided, if authorities would open their eyes and if transporters would find appropriate solutions to their issues.

Only practicing the adapting to the changing rules is the genuine crisis challenge.
