CFR MARFA EARNS EUROPEAN SUBSIDIES THROUGH A MARCO POLO PROJECT

CFR Marfa, along with national railway operators in Montenegro, Serbia and Bulgaria, are involved in the KATARSYS/INTRASYS initiative, aiming at connecting Italy and Romania, respectively Italy and Bulgaria through a complex intermodal service. Funded with 1.976.148 Euros for a period of three years, the project will be launched this month, following a test pilot. According to a CFR Marfa press release, the company also intends to take part in new projects funded under the 2009 budget of the Marco Polo programme, and will submit an application following the call for proposals launched in February.
