RBT: You’ve planned to double the number of employees within two years. How will you be able to reach this aim, given the lack of qualified personnel in the field of logistics in Romania?
Viorel Leca: Indeed, the number of logisticians rises at a slow pace. Most companies with logistics personnel grow quite rapidly because of market boost, due to accelerating tendency of large producers and merchants to outsource logistics services. However, it is very difficult to find people with experience who know how to use some systems and know how to optimize transport services. On the one hand, since companies in the field are registering fluctuations of staff, we’ve been trying to attract such specialists. On the other hand, we’ve committed lately quite a lot of young people, even college graduates, which we are trying to foster in the spirit of our company.
RBT: In which way does the fuel price hike affect GW?
V.L.: It is more than obvious that all companies in the industry are in a delicate position. On the one hand we are quite worried about the accelerated increase in fuel prices. On the other hand, customers ask for stable costs. At the beginning of a year each company has a tight budget drawn up, a clear business plan to follow, and obviously is not willing to easily accept distortions associated with unpredictable fuel prices. We are of course negotiating with our customers, but our task is not quite easy.
