BMW officials note that the Bavarian group’s electrification strategy aims to build a leading position in the field of premium electric mobility.
„Even before we reach 2030, battery electric cars will account for over half of global car sales. The BMW Group brings to the partnership the competence accumulated over 15 years in batteries and electric propulsion systems.”, show those from BMW.
Partnership between BMW Group and Rimac Technology
An integral part of the Rimac Group, the Rimac Technology division is a Tier 1 supplier specialized in electrification in the automotive field. Its portfolio consists of high-voltage:
- battery packs,
- electric bridges
- electronic and software solutions.
The company’s products are designed and manufactured in-house to offer advanced technology with a high degree of customization.
The BMW Group has concluded a „long-term” partnership with Rimac Technology, an independent division of the Croatian company which, along with Porsche, is a shareholder of Bugatti
The long-term partnership with the BMW Group is a sign of Rimac Technology’s transition from a niche high-performance solution provider to a high-volume Tier 1 supplier. Rimac Technology is ready to deliver „large-scale projects at the highest standards”.
Rimac Group is the majority shareholder of Bugatti Rimac and the sole shareholder of Rimac Technology. The group also controls the company Rimac Automobili, the manufacturer of the famous „hybercar” Nevera. Headquartered in Zagreb (Croatia), but with activities in several centers in Europe, the group currently has over 2,200 employees.
