Kazakhstan’s national oil company, KazMunaiGas is considering the possibility of acquiring the Lukoil Neftohim Burgas AD oil refinery in Bulgaria. KazMunaiGas through Rompetrol confirms: negociations with Lukoil the purchase of the refinery in Bulgaria.
„JSC NC KazMunayGas has been invited by LUKOIL to participate in the tender for the acquisition of the LUKOIL Neftokhim Burgas refinery in Bulgaria.”

This is the first time that one of the parties confirms discussions about this transaction.
Rompetrol confirms: negociations with Lukoil
The Kazakh company is discussing financing for the potential acquisition with Vitol Group. It is the largest independent oil trader in the world and a major player in Kazakhstan. The transaction, valued at one billion dollars, is expected to be completed in one month „KazMunayGas is seeking support for its offer from the Bulgarian government. The refinery was designed to process Russian oil of a similar quality to Kazakh crude oil. If its offer is accepted, the company will supply Kazakh oil to the refinery under the best possible conditions.„
