The report of the Association of Automobile Manufacturers in Romania shows a decrease of 6% compared to the first month of last year in registrations. Poor start to the year for the Romanian automotive market.
The ACAROM report is based on data from the General Directorate for Driving Licenses and Registrations (DGPCI). In January 2025, 11,920 new cars were registered in Romania. The value is down by 6.38% compared to the first month of last year.
The brands with the most cars registered in January 2024 were:
- Dacia (4,010 units),
- Toyota (948 units),
- Skoda (892 units),
The top 10 is completed, in order by: Volkswagen (838 units), Renault (726 units), Hyundai (677 units), Mercedes-Benz (487 units), Ford (460 units), BMW (447 units) Suzuki (354 units),
Poor start to the year for the Romanian automotive market
The number of second-hand cars that entered circulation increased by 0.5% to 27,537 units. The first two months of the year are periods when customers are waiting for the debut of the Rabla Classic and Rabla Plus programs. In February, new car sales must be quite low. Then, everything depends on when the government program to subsidize car purchases will start and the amounts offered by the state.
