Oscar Downstream launches mobile payment at the pump for fuel
Pay at the pump is an increasingly popular facility globally. According to Eurowag, over 10,000 filling stations in Europe currently provide this service.
„The mobile payment option enhances the consumer experience at the pump. It generates added fluidity and security when completing transactions. All in all, it is a step forward in our sustainability efforts. It helps us reduce our environmental impact and carbon footprint. Vouchers are digitally generated, payments do not require additional resources and infrastructure, and the process is much more energy efficient,” added Lucian Haranguș, Sales & Retail director Oscar Downstream.
The Eurowag mobile payment app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. After downloading to a smart phone, the user registers and enters the necessary data, including payment information. As soon as the user arrives at one of the Oscar Drive stations, he/she selects the station, the chosen pump via the app and can start the fuel.
Once the maximum allowable amount of fuel is reached, the pump automatically shuts off and the driver can continue on their way. The payments made by each driver are centralized in real time in the customer account on the digital platform available to companies buying fuel from Oscar Downstream.
„The technical solution for this project was realized by Petrosol. It is the leading software provider dedicated to the oil and gas industry in Romania. The PetroSol team’s expertise ensured a secure integration between Eurowag’s mobile payment system and Oscar Downstream’s retail tax system,” said Cristian Balulescu, General Manager Petrosol.”, said Cristian Balulescu, General Manager Petrosol.
