The Japanese Mazda brand saw a slight increase in sales in the first half of 2024 supported mainly by the Mazda2.
Mazda sold 1,453 vehicles in Romania in the first half of 2024. It recorded a slight increase of 3% compared to the first six months of the previous year. The Mazda CX-30 compact SUV holds its position. Over the past four years it has been the brand’s best-selling model in Romania. It recorded 415 units delivered to local customers. The Mazda2 model also stands out, with sales doubling during the period. The model reached 78 cars sold.
CX-30 remains the best-selling model
The top three best-selling models are completed by the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-5 with 351 and 338 units sold respectively. Mazda CX-60, the new variant of the range offered in Europe. It counted 120 deliveries between January and June. Mazda MX-5 also saw a significant increase. The model totaled 19 models sold, up 73% on the previous period.
„After Mazda’s sales volume reached an all-time high in Romania last year, we continue to have a steady pace and a slight advance also in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The 1,453 units sold maintained our 2% share of the registered car market. The Mazda CX-30, Mazda3 and Mazda CX-5 triad provided the foundation for this positive result, while models such as the Mazda2 and MX-5 saw significant increases. The second half of the year will be marked by the arrival of the all-new Mazda CX-80, an all-new model with three rows of seating and up to seven seats. The Mazda CX-80, a symbol of Japanese craftsmanship, is already available for pre-order in Romania,” said Cristian Rigu, Country Manager Mazda Romania.
