Leapmotor International is a company 51% owned by the Stellantis group and 49% by the Chinese Leapmotor. The company officially confirmed its arrival on the Romanian market this month.

The first batch of the Leapmotor C10 and T03 electric vehicles will be sold starting in September 2024. The marketing will be done through the new company AUTOGREEN MOTOR belonging to the AUTOITALIA group.

Currently, AUTOITALIA is the official local importer of the:

  • Fiat,
  • Fiat Professional,
  • Jeep,
  • Alfa Romeo,
  • Abarth
  • Maserati brands, owned by Stellantis.

At the end of July, Leapmotor International shipped the first batch of Leapmotor electric vehicles – the C10 SUVs and the T03 city cars – from Shanghai, China. Leapmotor is the third-largest NEV vehicle startup company in China by sales as of July 2024.

Leapmotor confirmed its entry into the Romanian market

„By the first half of July, Leapmotor had cumulatively sold more than 400,000 electric vehicles in China,” said Leapmotor founder, chairman and CEO Zhu Jiangming. „China is the largest and most competitive EV market in the world, and our products have proven their value by being appreciated by local customers. From the outset, the C10 and T03 models have been designed to meet the high standards of global customers and we are confident that the collaboration between Stellantis and Leapmotor will bring significant growth for both companies.”

The Leapmotor International joint venture plans to increase the points of sale for Leapmotor vehicles in Europe from 200 at the end of 2024 to 500 by 2026. The goal is to ensure a high level of customer service. The July shipment is just the beginning of a long-term collaboration. The purpose is transforming the landscape of electric mobility in Europe and beyond. It is planned that at least one model will be released every year for the next three years.
