The turnover in the industry, on the total domestic and foreign markets, decreased in January 2025, The decrease was recorded in nominal terms, both compared to December 2024 by 7.1% and compared to January last year by 0.4%.

The decline in turnover in January 2025 compared to the previous month was determined by the decreases recorded in the extractive industry (-7.6%) and in the manufacturing industry (-7.1%).

On the major industrial groups, decreases were recorded in the capital goods industry (-17.4%) and the current use goods industry (-11.8%). Increases were recorded in the durable goods industry (+6.3%), the energy industry (+4.3%) and the intermediate goods industry (+4%). The turnover in the industry decreased, in nominal terms, in January 2025 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, overall, by 0.4% as a result of the decrease recorded in the manufacturing industry (-1%). The extractive industry grew by 16.3%.

According to the INS, the net turnover (excluding VAT) is calculated by summing the invoiced revenues resulting from the sale of goods, sales of goods, execution of works and provision of services, minus discounts, discounts and other discounts granted to customers. The following are not included in the turnover: the value of the packaging returned after delivery; Excise duty; subsidies received from public authorities or EU institutions; the sale of their own land and fixed assets; discounts, draws, and other discounts granted to customers.
